Children should not be habituated to coffee and tea.
Steam inhalation will be of use for children who are having cough, cold and fever. Medicines prescribed by the doctor can also be added to the boiling water to have medicated steam for better results.
For children, with chronic sinusitis there is a mode of treatment called ‘Sinus Puncture’. In this method of treatment, the pus collected in the sinus cavity can be punctured and let out.

Children who are taking sweets may get cough and cold if the ghee and dalda used in the sweet is allergic to them.
Children who have low resistance power i.e., Immune compromised children and children who have tendency for allergy are prone to cough and cold if they are given ice creams and cold drinks. That may be due to throat irritation and infection.
Children who are obese should be restricted to have ghee, butter, mutton, cheese, coconut, coconut oil, egg, goat’s liver, kidney, brain, potato chips, cashew nuts, badam, pista nuts, tinned soups and oily foodstuffs.
Obese children are prone to get many diseases in their middle age itself.
Those children may suffer from diabetes, atherosclerotic coronary artery disease which will lead to chest pain, heart attack and heart failure. Stones also will be seen in the gall bladder.
Usually the pulse of the children will be more when compared to the adults. For new born babies it will be 120 to 140, at 5 years 100, 10 years 90, 12 years 85, 15 years 80. So, by just seeing the rapid pulse and heart beat parents should not be anxious and panicky.
