  1. Children with asthma can take corticosteroids as per the advice of doctors. There is no harm in taking steroids. Modern medicine recommends steroids for the treatment of asthma.
  2. Children with chronic severe Asthma may need continuous treatment.
  3. Children who are using steroid inhalers for longer duration, should gargle their throat with salt water or with antiseptic lotion regularly to protect themselves from fungal infection.
  4. Some asthmatic children, in spite of taking regular treatment may go in for a severe form of disease called as ‘Status Asthmatics’. In such situations, children should be hospitalized and proper treatment should be given to save the child.
  5. There is no hard and fast rule that children with asthma should take only hot water bath. They can have bath in ordinary cold water.
  6. There are many reasons for children getting cough. They are throat infection, infection of the tonsils, infection of the sinus, allergy, asthma, lung infection called as pneumonia, pus collection in the lungs, measles, whooping cough, foreign body obstruction in the nostrils or airway.
  7. Chronic cough may be due to tuberculosis, allergy, asthma, lung abscess, habitual cough.
  8. If cough persists beyond one or two weeks, it has to be investigated properly and then appropriate treatment should be given.
  9. Childhood tuberculosis usually spreads from adults and it is not a hereditary one.
  10. Patients of tuberculosis cough or sneeze in front of the healthy children there are possibilities of spread of the disease.
