1. After 2 years of life Typhoid vaccine is to be given. Typhoid injection will give protection against Typhoid only for 3 years. So, it is mandatory to give this injection once in 3 years.
2. If Triple Antigen vaccine is not given within 5 years of age after 5 years it is advisable to give Double Antigen (DT) which protects against Diphtheria and Tetanus. This Double Antigen vaccine should be given at monthly intervals thrice.
3. After giving Hepatitis ‘B’ vaccine once or twice and discontinued, from the first injection within one year the next doses can be administrated.
4. Inspite of giving Measles vaccine, if the child develop rashes like Measles, no harm is giving second dose of measles vaccine.
5. To protect, Tetanus, a dangerous disease ‘Tetanus Toxoid’ (TT0 injection has to be given once in three years after the age of 5. Up to the age of 5 years, no need to give the Tetanus Toxiod separately, since Triple Antigen itself contains Tetanus Toxoid.
6. Children below 5 years if they get injured Tetanus Toxoid is not necessary provided if they were given Triple Antigen vaccine. All the parents should know this point and should not ask for Tetanus Injection following each and every trivial injury.
7. Bite of the rabid dog is a must for giving Anti Rabies Vaccine. Rabies is a dangerous disease caused by the bite of stray dog. Anti Rabies vaccine should be given as per the advice of doctor.
8. Families with dogs as pet animals, should give the regular vaccines to the dos to protect the children in that family.
9. Children should the forbidden to play with the pet animals like dogs and cats, because their fur or the parasites in the fur can cause certain diseases.
10. If Cholera is epidemic or rampant in a particular area, as per the advice of doctor Cholera vaccine should also be given.
