  1. Recently, combination vaccines have come in the market. If you give one injection that will protect against Diptheria, Whooping Cough, Tetanus, Hepatitis ‘B’ and Haemophilus Influenza Meningitis. This vaccine can also be administrated instead of having many pricks. This combination vaccine should be started from 1 ½ months of life and it has to be given at 1 ½ months intervals.
  2. Following vaccination, if there is any adverse effects it should be treated immediately. If you suspect some side effects it should also be brought to the notice of the doctors.
  3. Babies should exclusively be breast fed for 4 months. Then we can start giving weaning food.
  4. After 2 months of life fruit juices can be fed to the babies. Orange juice or tomato juice can be started. Then juice of other fruits can be tried. To start with along with fruit juice equal amount of water should be mixed and given for a couple of days. Then undiluted juices can be given.
  5. To have a starting of solid foods, food out of rice can be started initially and then wheat can be changed.
  6. While starting any food it should be given gradually and the quantity should be increased slowly.
  7. After 4 months Cereals like Rice, Wheat, Ragi, Bengal Green, Groundnut can be cleaned, fried and powered and can be made into porridge and fed.
  8. After 4 months Biscuits with Jess sweetness can be mixed with milk and fed. Even biscuits can be directly given to the babies for eating.
  9. Around 5 – 6 months Carrot and Potato can be washed, boiled, smashed, sweetened and fed.
  10. After 7 months idlies can be mixed with milk and given. Rice after nicely boiling it can be mixed with Dhal water, curd, buttermilk, ghee Rasam and fed.
