Around eight months along with boiled rice, boiled vegetables and greens can be mixed and fed in little quantities. Boiled Rice with Sambar can be fed.
After 9 months yellow of the egg can be fed. After boiling the egg the yellow of the egg can be fed in small quantities to start with and then full yellow of the egg can be given. Once the child tolerates yellow of the egg, white of the egg can be given next. Usually, some children may be allergic to the white of egg.
Around 7 – 8 months itself fruits can be gradually fed to the babies.
From 9th or 10th month onward non-vegetarian of vegetarian soups can be fed gradually.
After the age of 1 year the child should get mostly all the diets as that of the adults in the family.
Around 11 – 12 months mutton can be cut in to tiny pieces and can be given to the children.
From second year onwards there is no need for special foods for babies.
Even though babies start taking solid diet they should be given minimum half litre of milk daily.
After starting a diet an interval of four or five days should be three for introducing the next diet.
Too spicy and too sweety foods can be better avoided to children.
