  1. At the time of convulsions the parents should not be tensed up, but immediate medical attention should be sought.
  2. Giving Iron piece or key bunch to the convulsing child is absurd and it is one of the superstition in child rearing.
  3. When the child is having fits medicines should be given through vein or through rectum to control the convulsion.
  4. If the convulsion is only on one side of the body or if it lasts for more than half an hour or if the child doesn’t regain consciousness after the fits it is considered as ‘A typical febrile fits.’ For this A typical febrile fits only long term treatment prescribed by the doctors should be given.
  5. Generally, simple febrile fits may not require continuous treatment or medication.
  6. At the time of convulsion people should not surround and see the convulsing child. If they do so, there may not be adequate aeration and that itself will be harmful for the child.
  7. As soon as the child start throwing fit it should be taken to the nearby hospital for further management.
  8. At the time of convulsion, to protect the tongue a piece of wood or plastic gag should be kept in the mouth.
  9. Diarrhoea is a dreadful disease in children. Parents should be aware of it and should not ignore it.
  10. Diarrhoea is usually caused by consuming contaminated water or due to unhygienic practices. It is one of the water borne diseases.
