  1. Adding sugar to the milk is the cause for cold is the notion of many parents and they will avoid it for a couple of years. It is not advisable.  Children can relish the milk with sugar.
  2. Some basic advices to protect the children from diseases are Breast feeding should be continued for at least one year. Supplementary feeds should be started from fifth month onwards.  Nails of fingers should be trimmed periodically.  Food products which are exposed to flies should be avoided.  Boiled and cooled water should be used for drinking.  Mosquito net is used to protect the child from mosquito bite.  Mosquito coil, liquid mosquito repellent, creams applied over the skin should be avoided.
  3. Childhood Tuberculosis is called as ‘Primary Complex’. It is totally a curable disease.
  4. Left handedness in children should not be taken seriously.
  5. At any const children should not be fed with unboiled milk. If milk without boiling is fed there is the possibility of getting diseases.
  6. Some children will get loose motions at the age of 7-8 months; this is called as ‘Teething diarrhoea’. It is said that it is due to the eruption of teeth.  That is wrong.  At the time of teething babies will have uneasy sensation.  That is why they will keep what all they see and get, in their mouth, because of that there will be infection of the intestine and lose motion.
  7. Grown up children should be taught to use their hand kerchief while coughing or sneezing or else they should be taught to close their mouth with their hands.
  8. Giving purgatives for cleaning the intestine is not necessary.
  9. From second year of age children should be given the routine diet available in the house. There is no need for preparing special food for children, but the food should not be too spicy.
  10. Growing child should be given milk from the second year onwards in adequate quantity. Moreover, the child should not drink only milk during the second year.
