If one child in the family suffer from childhood tuberculosis other children in the house should be examined and investigated for the disease.
To prevent the disease, living place of the child and environment should be kept neat and tidy.
Running nose in children is a common problem. It is usually due to the viral infections.
This sort of cold may be due to the change in the climatic conditions. From summer to rainy season and from rainy season to winter season – change of climate may lead to cold. Sometimes children dwelling in congested atmosphere can also acquire cold.
Watering of eyes during cold is due to excessive secretion of tears.
If the nasal discharge is greenish or yellowish it indicates infection and that sort of cold is not due to allergy.
Some children may get throat pain frequently. It may be due to the infection of the pharynx or tonsils.
Then infection of pharynx and tonsils may be commonly due to viral infection. It can also be due to few bacteria or fungus.
Due to sinusitis, congested environment, cold climate are other reasons for the recurrent throat pain. Irritating smoke also can cause throat irritation.
Cold due to viral infection may not need any treatment. Antibiotics are not necessary for this viral cold.
