  1. Some children may faint due to mental stress, fear or pain. This is due to the transient impairment of oxygen supply to the brain.
  2. Such a fainting attack usually lasts for less than one minute. If children faint, the dress should be loosened and made to lie down in an airy atmosphere.
  3. If child loses its consciousness, the legs should be raised for 8-12 inches and it should be kept like that.
  4. Pillow should not be kept under the head.
  5. Child’s head should be kept towards one side. Suppose, if the child vomits also it will prevent the blockage of airways.
  6. 5-10 minutes later once the child has regained its consciousness he or she should be slowly made to sit and then walk.
  7. If there is any head injury consultation with doctor is essential. Splashing of water over face, shaking the child or making the child to inhale some salts should be avoided.
  8. Children with prickly heat should not be made to wear many clothes.
  9. Their skin should be kept cool and dry.
  10. Oil and cosmetic creams should not be applied. Prickly heat powder can be sprinkled.
