  1. Before menstruation shaving of the hair is not necessary. It can just be trimmed.
  2. If female children follow this hygienic measures at the time of menstruation they will feel comfortable and confident.
  3. Adolescent girls while they are at school may not drink adequate water and may not pass urine. This is because they feel the toilets are unhygienic.  If done so they may have to suffer from urinary tract infection.
  4. SO, adolescent girls should drink at least a minimum of eight tumblers of water per day.
  5. Whenever they feel, they should urinate and the external genitalia should be washed every time after passing urine sitting in a squatted position.
  6. Adolescent boys while taking bath should wash their foreskin of their external genitalia after it clean.
  7. Adolescent girls should know whether their menstruation is normal or abnormal.
  8. Menstruation will happen once in 29 days on an average, normally there will not be any blood clots in the menstrual bleeding.
  9. Usually bleeding may last for 2-7 days. On an average, it will be there for 5 days.
  10. If bleeding is there for more than 8 days it has to be considered as abnormal.
