If child is away from the retrievable distance a towel or a long pole should be shown to the child and the child is asked to hold and the child is to be pulled to the land.
After recovering the child from water source, if the child is not breathing, mouth to mouth breathing should be tried.
If a drowned child vomits the head should be tilted towards one side and made to vomit.
If the drowned child breathes, wet clothes should be removed and covered with dry blankets and to be taken to hospital immediately.
If a child is drowning it should not be allowed to hold you. If it does so, it will pull you to the water source.
Child while playing puts some foreign objects in the mouth and it accidentally aspirates and obstructs the airway, child will have difficulty in breathing.
There will be difficulty in breathing, crying and making noise.
Following aspiration of a foreign body in the airway, there will be cough. Lips, nails and skin will become blue.
Such a situation is a medical emergency and the child should be carried to a hospital immediately.
Due to the deficiency of Vitamin ‘A’, children can have toad skin. It is seen over the elbows and knees.
