1. Mothers should discuss with the daughter about the premenstrual tension and alleviate the fear of menstruation.
2. If the crampy abdominal pain is severe those girls can be given some pain relievers as advised by the doctors.
3. If children swallow smooth surface objects parents should not become panicky and tense.
4. Most of the object will come out along the stools due to the intestinal movement.
5. Sharp and irregular objects are prone to get lodged in the intestine.
6. Most of the objects usually will come in motion in 3 to 4 days and some may take as long as 4 to 6 weeks.
7. If the child has swallowed an object parents should explore the stools for the passage of the objects till it comes out.
8. Serial X-rays may be necessary to locate the object.
9. Some babies will have white patches in the cheeks, gums, mouth and tongue.
10. This may be due to fungus in the mouth. It is called oral thrush.
