Facts about Space

There are nine planets in our solar system and they are Mercuy, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. These planets circle around the sun.

Mercury is the smallest and innermost Planet in the Solar system. It is named after the Roman deity Mercury, the messenger to the gods.

Venus is the second planet. It is named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty.

Earth also known as World is the third planet and the only planet to known to harbor life.

Mars is the fourth planet named after the Roman god of war, which is also referred to as the “Red Planet”.

Jupiter is the fifth and the largest planet in the solar system.
The Romans named it after their god Jupiter.

Saturn is the sixth planet and it is named after the Roman god of agriculture.

Its astronomical symbol represents the god’s sickle.

Uranus is the seventh planet and the only planet whose name is derived from Greek mythology, greek god of the sky Ouranos.

Neptune is the eighth planet. It is named after the Roman god of the sea with a astronomical symbol, a modern version of the god Neptune’s trident.

Pluto is in the ninth place and considered to be a dwarf planet.
