International Tongue Twister Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of November every year and this year it falls on 13th November.
Tongue Twister is a phrase or a sentence that contains several expressions and rhyming words strategically coined to be very difficult for people to articulate. It helps develop speech skills & helps in speech therapy. Generally tongue twisters are humorous and often mispronounced especially when spoken fast and the results are hilarious.
Tongue twisters have fascinated people throughout history. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the most difficult tongue twister in the English language is: “The sixth sick sheikh’s sixth sheep’s sick.”
So why don’t you try it with your buddies and enjoy the Tongue Twister Day?
To get the full effect of a tongue twister you should try to repeat it several times, as quickly as possible, without stumbling or mispronouncing.
