NATIONAL WILDLIFE DAY
September 4, 2016

National Wildlife Day is observed on September 4 every year. It was founded in 2005 by Colleen Paige who is a Conservationist, Animal Advocate, Animal Behaviorist, Pet Lifestyle Expert, Founder of other animal related holidays such as National Dog Day and National Cat Day.

Though the National Wildlife Day was founded in March 2005, it was later changed to September 4 to honor the memory of Steve Irwin, an animal lover, animal rescuer and conservationist who unfortunately lost his life to a stingray barb’s attack on this day.

The aim of the day is to make the people know about the threats and attacks facing by wild animals and educate them to join animal welfare organizations to love and save the animals which are in poor state. On this day public are requested to fund government, non-government and nonprofit organizations, for protecting the wild animals and its habitats
