Superman is a fictional hero who was created in 1933 by writer Joe Shuster and artist Jerry Siegel. Superman’s first appearance was in American comic books published by DC Comics. Since then Superman has gone through a lot of changes. His story has been modified and rewritten many times over the years.
Superman was born as Kal-El on the alien planet Krypton. He was sent to Earth by his scientist father Jor-El as an infant moment before Krypton’s destruction. Found by a Kansas Farmer and his wife, Kal-El was christened as Clark Kent. He uses his superhuman abilities, speed and other incredible powers for the benefit of humanity under a secret “Superman” identity.
As Clark Kent he resides in the American City of Metropolis and works as a journalist for the Daily Planet, a local newspaper. His girlfriend is Lois Lane and the enemy is Lex Luthor. Superman’s costume is blue suit with red cape and a logo in bold yellow pentagon with letter “S” in red colour on the chest.
Apart from comics Superman is seen in other form of media like television series, video games, T-shirts, novels and movies. Actors George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh, Henry Cavill, Tom Welling, Mark Harmon, Charlie Sheen, Adam Baldwin and many more.
Famous movies are Man of Steel, Superman, Superman II, Batman v Superman, Superman Returns etc.
